    Education Priorities

    • Programs that help students successfully complete high school and/or prepare for and gain access to college (especially non-traditional and underserved students).
    • Programs that help students successfully complete college (especially non-traditional and underserved students).
    • Job training programs that prepare underserved populations (racial and ethnic minorities, low-income, etc.) for meaningful employment.

    Entities Not Eligible for Funding (including but not limited to the following)

    • Individuals or organizations without 501(c)(3) public charity status or private foundations except under special circumstances.
    • Organizations that practice discrimination by race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, or national origin.
    • Major operating expenses for organizations supported by the United Way since AT&T gives directly to the United Way.
    • Capital or endowment funds.
    • Political activities or organizations.
    • Religious organizations for sectarian purposes; schools organized for religious training; or religious schools that restrict entry to those of a certain faith or those belonging to a specific denomination or sect.
    • Special occasion goodwill advertising or ticket/dinner purchases.
    • Donation of products or services.

    Funding Requirements 

    Organizations that receive funding from AT&T must use the funding for the purpose noted in its application and consistent with the description in its application. If, for any reason, the contribution will not be used for this purpose, the organization agrees to notify AT&T and request a redirection of the funds toward another charitable purpose. AT&T may, in its discretion, approve the redirection or require the return of funds to AT&T.

    Organizations must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity, government instrumentality, or international public charity to qualify for funding. Government instrumentalities are agencies, including government-owned corporations, created by Congress or the state legislatures to carry out public functions or purposes.
